Egypt's Minister of Industry and Trade, Ahmed Samir, inaugurated the 3rd edition of the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF2023) at the Al Manara International Conference Centre in Cairo.
Samir expressed his belief that this year's edition will be a significant turning point for the African continent.
He noted that the IATF is thriving despite global economic challenges and the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on African countries, expressing joy.
The IATF2023 event showcased some of the most inspiring and insightful individuals currently driving the growth of intra-African trade.
Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo, AU Commissioner Albert Muchanga, and Afreximbank Executive Vice President Kanayo Awani were among the speakers.
The fair, featuring over 1,600 exhibitors and 35,000 visitors, aims to promote collaboration and competition to achieve the objectives of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA).
IATF took place for the first time in 2018 at the International Exhibition Center, in Cairo, Egypt. It was organised by Afreximbank in collaboration with the African Union.
